Liberty Tree Tavern Review

Okay, I’ll shoot straight. For some reason this was not high on my “to eat” list at Disney world. In fact, I’m not sure if I would have gotten around to it had it not been ranked #1 on Disney food blog. So as we were making last minute reservations for our spontaneous trip, I decided, “eh, why not?”

To say I was blown away by the quality of this restaurant would be an understatement.

When we first checked in, we were quickly greeted and only had to wait 5 minutes for our table to be ready. Immediately I realized that I LOVED the atmosphere. The theming was on point and it had a nice cozy feel to it.

The restaurant serves its food “Family Style”, which is code for way more food than anyone could ever eat(even at Disney). First our waiter brought out bread, butter, and a delicious salad. I also opted for a delicious glass of merlot. I had to forcibly stop myself from eating all of the appetizers, because I knew I needed to save enough room for the entree. Spoiler alert: I did not save enough room.

Finally it was time for lunch! This consisted of:

  • Green beans
  • Mashed potatoes
  • Gravy
  • Stuffing
  • Cranberry Sauce
  • Macaroni and cheese
  • Oven Roasted Pork, Pot Roast, and Turkey Breast

Essentially it had everything you could ever want from a Thanksgiving meal. I’ll let the pictures do the talking, since I can’t find the words to express how good it was!

Lastly, we were served their famous, “Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake”. We had heard that this was a favorite, and we see why! I can honestly can say this is the best dessert I have EVER had! No, I am not exaggerating. My husband doesn’t agree that it is his favorite of all time, but he does agree that it is the best we have ever had at Disney world.

Liberty Tree Tavern is now high on my list of favorites at Disney! It is easily in my top 3! If you have a trip coming up, I highly suggest snagging a reservation.

What are some of your favorite places to eat at Disney?

    1. Nice! Where this one located? I’ve been wanting to try, I think it’s called, Mickeys Backyard Bar-B-Que, ugh, they are often out of reservations by the time I try to book one.

  1. Looks so good! I love the different themes at Disney restaurants, too. I’m partial to the Carnation Cafe over here at Disneyland in Cali – their waffles are to die for!

  2. Looks so delicious – definitely a good ‘ole thanksgiving meal! We often visit character dining restaurants because of the little ones. I wouldn’t say one is greater than the other, most if not all have been buffet style, like the Crystal Palace with Winnie The Pooh, except, ‘Ohana’ we went there for breakfast. If I can give you one tip, breakfast for character dining is cheaper than lunch. So if you ever want experience it, try that and save some money – for say another glass of Merlot!🍷🙌🏽😊

    1. Yes, I think the food at the character dining restaurants are all relatively the same. I can’t see the the difference in food, only the obvious in meeting the different characters. Ohana’s breakfast was great! The good ‘ole American meal – sausage, Mickey waffles, fruit, eggs, bacon, orange juice and coffee. We took pictures with Stitch before entering and once inside we met Lilo, Mickey and Pluto. 😊

  3. Went here for the first time and it was good. But, when they brought Dessert, I only ate half of it. Didn’t expect it to be a lot of food for one person. I’ll try them again, but will be checking out other places as well on my next trip to Disney.

  4. I too have always skipped this place on my previous WDW visits for whatever reason. Might have to make reservations next time in I’m in the Magic Kingdom! Thanks for sharing.

  5. Omigosh, Disney does it up right. Their attention to detail and quality is what makes Disney a “gotta go at least once” vacation. We went to the Mickey and Friends Buffet a couple of years ago and it was phenomenal. I had never had so many choices and such good food. Each of the characters rotated around the room and stopped by our table to play with the kids and take pictures. No one was in a hurry. It was great fun and I especially liked that there were no lines to meet the characters.

  6. It does look good and I do not think I have ever eaten there either, the name just makes it sound uber boring I guess. What Disney needs to do is make a movie about it, like Paul Revere or Spooky Hallow then everyone would go.

  7. The Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake is so good! That was my favorite part of our meal. We had lunch there but just ate a la carte, which was still a ton of food. I’d love to go back and eat the full “all you can eat” meal!
